Dementia and Alzheimer’s:

Alzheimer’s and Dementia can be devastating illnesses to those residents who suffer  with this ailment as well as their loved ones who provide care for them. We are here to make the transition easy and to help you better understand this condition and support your loved ones. Our directors and caregivers have many years of experience assisting residents and families to address the memory needs of those in our care. Studies have shown that incorporating activities that residents previously enjoyed, into their daily routine, can be very helpful with recall and comfort. Clients have daily activities including devotion, stimulating games, jewelry making, Wii games, exercises, music appreciation and more. We work individually with the clients to provide the appropriate care needed. We strongly encourage family involvement in care activities.

Diabetes and Disease Management :

Diabetes is one of the main chronic conditions that if controlled and properly managed, may result in fewer complications. Diabetes is classified as type 1 or type 2, and can be treated with oral medication or with insulin. Diabetes that is poorly treated can result in damage to the nervous system, ulcers that take a longer time to heal, increase in infections,  and loss of limbs. Diabetes may also cause damage to the eyes and the heart, as well as damage to kidneys resulting in the need for dialysis treatment. This chronic condition also pre-disposes sufferers to depression. We provide specialized diets for diabetics, blood glucose testing, and insulin administration. We work closely with your physician, diabetic educator, dietician, dentists, podiatrists, pharmacists and your insurance to help you manage your condition and promote optimum health. We also promote exercise, which is an essential part of managing your blood sugar.  Disease management is provided to clients with other chronic conditions.

Medication Management :
An important part of being healthy and managing your health conditions is medication management. Medication is supervised and is taken only as ordered by your physician. We work closely with your physician and pharmacists, reporting any adverse or side effects. Our staff has years of experience and is trained in medication administration as well as the observation of adverse occurrences.

Safety and Security:

We offer a secure environment for our clients with door alarms to alert staff of any unauthorized exits. The back yard is fenced, thereby providing a secure environment where clients can walk freely with supervision.
